Reflexology

Reflexology is a healing art based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet, hands and ears, which correspond to every part, gland, and organ of the body.  Through the application of pressure on these reflexes, reflexology relieves tension, improves circulation and helps promote the natural function of the related areas of the body.

A treatment consists of a quick foot cleansing, then starting on the right foot with gentle, yet firm pressure, to the client's comfort level.  After the "warm-ups" the toes are worked on.  The toes are the reflex areas for the head, brain, sinuses, eyes, ears, essentially all the parts of the head.  Then the sole of the foot which contains the reflexes for the internal organs, all the muscles and the bones of the torso of the body.  The heel of the foot, then the ankle area, and the top of the foot are completed.  The treatment of the right foot is finished off with the spinal reflexes.  Then the left foot is completed in the same manner.  Organs that are located on the left side of the body have reflexes on the left foot only.  For example, the Spleen Reflex is located on the left foot only, where the Brain Reflex is located on both feet.

Both feet are done completely, and while extra attention can be given for a specific condition, Reflexology does not treat a specific condition.  If you have a specific condition that you feel requires extra attention please feel free to bring it up during the initial consultation and Health History so that the practitioner is fully aware of your health issues.

The principle of the therapy is that working the whole foot helps the whole body to restore itself.  And that if all systems are worked they can support each other when one isn't functioning optimally.

I have completed the Requirements of the Reflexology Association of Canada for Certified Reflexologist (Foot).
